You choose when you want to be available to work
Interpreters-on-Call operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year but you choose when you want to be available to work. You can “log on” or “log off” from the Interpreters Portal by using the website or making a simple phone call.
How it works - face-to-face interpreting
- An LSP client requires an interpreter
- The client defines the criteria for the assignment - date, time, location, language pair, gender and sector expertise
- The system searches for any Interpreters who match the skills criteria and who have contracts with that LSP
- The system automatically sends a 'Job Notification' to all those interpreters
- You decide if you could fulfil the assignment and indicate that to the LSP through the Interpreters Portal
- The LSP assigns the task to the interpreter they wish to use and all parties are sent an email confirming details of the assignment
- The system will allow for both you and the client to 'electronically' sign a job sheet so that the LSP can accurately invoice the client and knows you have successfully completed the job
How it works - telephone interpreting
- A Language Service Providers' (LSPs') client calls the Interpreters-on-Call service on a number specific to that LSP
- The client selects the criteria (language pair, gender, sector expertise) they require
- Whilst they stay on the line, the criteria are matched against interpreters registered with that LSP, who are currently logged on
- The available interpreter receives an automated call from Interpreters-on-Call and is given the name of the LSP and language required before being asked to accept the call. If you accept the assignment you are automatically connected to the client and the session begins
- The system ensures that work is evenly distributed across all the relevant interpreters
- Interpreters-on-Call automatically creates reports for interpreters broken down by LSP. These detail all your call times and durations enabling you to generate accurate invoices
